The Technology the Securus Technology Provides

Securus Technologies is a highly interesting company I recently learned about that is based out of Dallas, Texas. They offer many technology solutions including their well known Cell Defender Technology that locates contraband cell phones within prisons, a mobile security solution that then disarms those cell phones from being able to connect to wireless networks and even calling solutions for inmates so they can contact their friends and family and speak to them on a monitored and secure line.

The mobile phone calling plans for inmates has been a big part of Securus Technologies’ offering. They currently work with over 1.2 million inmates who have friends and family members they want to talk to outside of prison. This is crucial, as when someone is convicted of a crime and is seeking to reform their ways, they need access to their support system, which typically consists of their friends and especially, their family members that provide that support.

Securus Technologies recently released a series of testimonials from actual clients that had written in or emailed to express their satisfaction with the company’s security technologies. Here are some of the most interesting testimonials I found:

  • A testimonial from a Sheriff’s Department stated that by utilizing Securus Technologies they were able to recover over a million dollars in lost drugs, laundered money and other stolen goods.
  • A correctional institute was able to monitor and record phone calls that led to the arrest of a corrupt employee that was in fact working with the inmates inside the facility.
  • One facility stated that the monitoring and tracking technologies has enabled them to increase their tracking of contraband phones and other devices inside the institution.

Securus Technologies has created a huge wave in the security technology industry. They are keeping our prisons safe and ensuring that technology is being used within the proper means that an inmate should be allowed.
