The company used to create one engine in 2 years but after he came this reduced to 9 months.

Louis Chenevert started development of the geared turbofan jet engine at P&W. However, this project was completed when he was already CEO. He had high hopes for this project and knew that one day it would be in high demand due to its unique features and capabilities. The engine has very low environmental pollution and has low fuel consumption rate. He funded the project with $10 billion, and the good thing is that it has paid off despite some critics dismissing it for costing too much.

Susan McGalla is Leading the Way for Women Executives

While it is well known that businesses with higher gender diversity outperform their less gender diverse counterparts, many women still have not made it into high-level positions. It is even rarer to see them in a high-level position within the world of sports. Susan McGalla is one of those women who has found success in the business world, paving the way for more women to obtain high-level positions. While Susan McGalla’s success is inspiring, more needs to be done to help women achieve higher level positions in the workplace. Executive sponsorships, which would give women more of a chance to work on cutting-edge projects and show their worth to a company is one way women could be helped in careers that are most often dominated by men.

Susan McGalla is no stranger to making it in a world surrounded by men. She grew up with two brothers and a dad who coached football. She credits her upbringing with much of her success; she was always taught that she could succeed no matter her gender, Susan McGalla began her career at American Eagle Outfitters, and a company that was then dominated by men. She worked hard and rose through the ranks of American Eagle, eventually becoming the Chief Merchandising Officer and President of American Eagle Outfitters. Susan left American Eagle to become the CEO of the Wet Seal clothing company. She then founded P3 Executive Consulting, LLC, which offered business advisory services to companies on Wall Street or in the financial sector.

Now, Susan McGalla has gone to work for the Pittsburgh Steelers and has become the Vice President of Business Strategy and Creative Development. She was instrumental in creating and implementing the “wear what we wear” campaign, which encouraged fans to buy Pittsburgh Steelers gear. The campaign was a huge success, and really showed the genius behind Susan McGalla. Hopefully, more women will seek executive sponsorships and follow in Susan’s footsteps to become a high-level executive.
