Sheldon Lavin, OSI Group CEO

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of OSI Group, LLC, Sheldon Lavin, has spent nearly five decades garnering his sterling reputation in the meat and food processing industry. He also serves as the President of OSI Group subsidiary, OSI International Foods Ltd. Today, Mr. Lavin is held in very high regard by his peers in the meat and food processing industry, but to say it happened overnight, would be completely false.

Prior to 1970, Mr. Lavin had created an illustrious career in the banking industry as an executive and investor, while also heading his own financial consulting firm. In 1970, Mr. Lavin was asked to help secure funding for Otto and Son’s, which would later become OSI Group. While initially only a consultant for Otto and Son’s, Mr. Lavin would eventually take the reigns of the company, and by the 1980’s, had helped to grow the company into an international conglomerate, with locations in places such as China, Australia, South Africa, and the Philippines. Recently, India’s Vision World Academy recognized Mr. Lavin for his supreme work ethic and foresight, presenting him with the Global Visionary Award in 2016. This is just the latest of a long list of awards that Mr. Lavin has received due to his leadership, as in 2015, he was recognized by RSM US LLP for his commitment to the Chicago business community, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Lavin has stated that he is proud of the direction that he has helped to take OSI Group since joining the company, and credits the family oriented outlook that he has consistently emphasized, as the major factor in Sheldon Lavin’s company’s success.

Among the myriad of awards that Mr. Lavin has received during his tenure as the head of OSI Group, are those regarding his company’s commitment to the environment and sustainability. OSI GROUP THE MOST SUCCESSFUL GLOBAL FOOD PROCESSING COMPANY

OSI group, formerly OSI industries, was established in 1909 as a food processing industry. Its headquarters is at Aurora, Illinois in the United States. Since its establishment and opening of first market in Chicago, the industry has dedicated itself to customers’ satisfaction.

In December, 2016, the group made a third company purchase in the same year by purchasing The Flagship Europe Company which was owned by the Flagship Food Group. This company supplied sous vide products, Mayonnaise, pies, frozen poultry and sauces to the UK market.

In 2017, OSI group has made several progresses among them the purchase of the Hynek Schlachthof GmbH (deals with slaughter of beef in Tauberbischofsheim, Germany), opening of a new meat processing plant in the Philippines (deals with fish, beef and chicken products) and the most recent increase of Toledo, Spain, plants production capacity which has made produce greater than 45 000 tons of chicken, pork and beef products.
