George Soros: Advocate for Change

George Soros is a complex, yet gentle man with a heart for change. He is well known as a philanthropist, giving away over $12 billion, but he is also a man with a whole lot more under his hat, in his repertoire, behind those gentle eyes and learn more about George Soros.

He is an active advocate for the ultimate good in society; he has worked to further Freedom of Speech for the common person, as well as fought to make CEOs and the wealthy elite running this country more transparent to the public for their actions. He is hard at work to promote societies that ultimately work for equality among all races and genders. He has a passion for the under represented and has given to works that strive for those quieter voices to be handed a megaphone and to be heard. And those facing discrimination; he heart beats for those facing opposition from the societies that bred them, including LGBTQA+ and drug users, sex workers, the broken and more information click here.

This passion for the average zen can very well be sprung from his past; he was a teenager in Hungary and survived the Nazi occupation from 1944 to 1945, escaping the horrid fate of many of his kin by forging papers and avoiding the oppressive regime, all the while helping many of his countrymen and women to do the same. Not only was he a survivor, but he helped others, a characteristic not often found in so troubling of times and George Soros’s lacrosse camp.

He made his way to the United States in 1956, after having worked low wage jobs, waiting tables and running trains to support his education at the London School of Economics. From there, he launched headfirst into the world of finance, where he earned his fortune by developing a hedge fund called the Soros Fund Management and what George Soros knows.

He then developed Open Society Foundations, promoting his views on equality and freedom of speech, extending these values to countries all over the world in hopes of creating a brighter future. This was a stepping stone up to his career in philanthropy, giving scholarships to black South Africans during apartheid, and otherwise benefiting this world and it’s people when trying times came upon them.

George Soros literally became the man to break the Bank of England, but he did not gather his profits and live the high life. He knew that there were others not as lucky as him, and he made it his life’s work to fight for these under represented and to fight for that pursuit of happiness our country holds so dear. He never let success define him; rather, he showed the world how one should define success to begin with and Follow him

Shortly after arriving, his father served as a combat sailor during Israel’s independence war. In 1950, the couple got married in Haifa, Israel.

After Adam and his siblings were born, the family moved to Kiryat Motzkin. Adam spent his childhood in Motzkin until he was 18. As required, Adam began his mandatory service in the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces). During the Yom Kippur War of 1973, he was assigned to the Ariel Sharon’s army Division.

After serving, he applied to the Technion. During those years, he married Gila Elgrably. After graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in business and economics, he worked with his father in real estate construction and development.
